    I agree with A. The sentence deals with the altering of investment strategies, not the corporations themselves. Answer choice C seems to state that the conditions have altered the investment strategies of US corporations more than they have altered foreign coporations themselves.

    Since we want to compare the investment strategies of US corp. to the investment strategies of foreign corp., the "those of" which refers back to "investment strategies" is necessary.
